Something not working?
I'm one person maintaining this in my spare time, so there's no help desk, but I read every report. The clearer the report, the faster I can fix it.
Report a problem
From the app
About & legal, then Report a problem. It opens your email app with a draft; you choose whether to include device details and the app's own log, and nothing is sent until you press send. After a crash, the app offers to send the details the same way.
By email
Write to konkomaji@gmail.com. The button below starts a message with a short template. Please don't attach photos that show where people live unless they're needed.
Email a problem reportOn GitHub
If you have a GitHub account, a public issue lets others with the same problem find it and follow the fix. Search the existing issues first.
Open an issueWhat to include
- The app version (About & legal shows it) and your phone model and Android version.
- What you did, step by step, what happened, and what you expected.
- For a verification problem: how the photo got to you (shared through which app, downloaded, copied by cable). Many apps recompress photos, which breaks verification on purpose.
- A screenshot if it shows the problem. Crop out anything private.
Before writing, it's worth checking the FAQ and, if you upgraded from 1.3.0 or older, the uninstall-first note.
Security problems
Please don't open a public issue for a security problem. Report it privately through a GitHub security advisory, or by email if you don't use GitHub.
In scope: any way to make an edited photo verify, location or personal data leaving the phone in a way the privacy policy doesn't describe, crafted files or share intents that crash the app or read files they shouldn't, and anything that exposes the signing key. Stripping the proof and re-signing with your own key is a documented limit, not a bug. The full policy, including what's out of scope, is in SECURITY.md.
There's no bug bounty. I aim to acknowledge reports within a week, and you'll be credited in the advisory unless you'd rather not be.
Contributing
Issues and pull requests are welcome. Please read CONTRIBUTING.md first, and for a larger change open an issue so we can agree on the approach before you put the work in. Everyone taking part is expected to follow the Code of Conduct.
Things that help most right now:
- Testing on real phones, especially budget and older ones, and telling me what breaks.
- Translations, starting with Hindi and Bengali.
- Checking the verification code and the privacy claims. Don't take my word for them.
